User Management

Managing Users#

Organization administrators can manage and invite users to Transform from the User Management page (under Settings). This page will show a list of names, user emails, role, and the date they were added. You can optionally use the search bar at the top of this page to filter users by name and email.

Permissions#

Users can be assigned as either Administrators or Users.

  • Administrators have elevated access privileges in the user interface. Primarily, administrators have access to organization-level settings where normal users do not. They can see and invite users from the user management page, and they can also control information about the MQL server. Additionally, they have access to edit certain objects around metrics even if they aren't the author (e.g., annotations and questions).
  • Users can view and query all metrics in the interface, but they will only be able to edit components of metrics if they are owner, and edit objects like annotations and questions if they are the author. Also, standard users do not have access to view or change organizational settings or take administrative actions.

Adding a User

All users with approved email domains (specified at organizational setup) will be able to sign up for Transform by visiting https://app.transformdata.io and clicking "Sign up".

Administrators can also invite users by clicking the "Invite Users" button on the right hand side of the User Management Page. This will open a modal prompting an email address. Once you complete the form and submit it, the invitee will recieve a welcome e-mail with a link to sign up and create an account. Note that if a user is invited from the application, they don't need to have an approved email domain to access Transform.

Editing a User

After a user has been added in Transform, you can:

  1. Add administrator privileges - this will upgrade the user to an administrator
  2. Remove admin privileges - this will only be present if the person is an administrator
  3. Deactivate - This will deactivate the user but will not delete them
  4. Reactive User - this will only be present if the user is deactivated, and allows you to reactivate them.
  5. Reset a password - This will send a password reset email to the person's email.
